Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use our party game application ("Wreck on Deck"). Wreck on Deck is a local-multiplayer social deduction game played with friends over a shared online room.

1. Information We Collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal identifier. The information involved falls into the following categories:

• Anonymous Sign-In: When you open the App, it signs you in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. This creates a random identifier tied to your device that is not linked to your real identity.
• Display Name: The nickname you type in before joining a game. It is stored in the game's room data only for the duration of that game so other players can see it, and is not linked back to you afterward.
• Game Data: Room codes, roles, votes, and game phase information created as you play, stored temporarily in Cloud Firestore to keep all players' devices in sync.
• Token Wallet: A count of in-app game tokens tied to your anonymous identifier, along with records of purchases and token shares, used to track your balance across games.
• Analytics Data: Anonymous usage statistics such as which features are used, how games unfold (roles, phases, outcomes), and session activity, used to understand how the App is used and to improve it. Analytics events never include your display name or a raw room code.
• Error Report Data: Collected automatically when the App encounters a crash or error, to diagnose and resolve issues.

Analytics and error report data are anonymous and are not used to identify individual users.

2. Camera Access

The App uses your device's camera only to scan a QR code when redeeming a token share from another player. Camera frames are processed on your device to read the code and are never stored or transmitted.

3. How Information is Used

The information is used solely to:

• Create and run multiplayer games, so all players' devices stay in sync.
• Track and update your game token balance.
• Improve the App's functionality and user experience.
• Identify and resolve technical issues.

We do not sell, share, or disclose your data to third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Game and account data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, secured by security rules that restrict access to the data belonging to your own anonymous identifier and the games you are actively part of. Room and game data is deleted or becomes inaccessible once a game ends.

However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of data transmissions or storage.

5. Third-Party Services

This App uses third-party services for:

• Multiplayer game data and the token wallet (Google Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication).
• Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics).
• Error reporting (Firebase Crashlytics).

These third parties may process data according to their own privacy policies.

6. In-App Purchases

The App offers game tokens for purchase. Payment and billing information are handled directly by the app store platform (e.g., Apple App Store) and are subject to their terms and privacy policies. We do not receive or store your payment details.

7. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Updates to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
